Anahola Real Estate

Anahola is at the northeast coast of the island, on Hawaii Route 56, in Kauai County, and adjacent to Anahola Bay, which is a bay of the Pacific Ocean. Its total area is only 3.9 square miles with 3.8 square miles land and 0.2 square miles water.

Population

The latest Census figures, as of 2010, show a population of 2,223, which was an increase of 15.1% percent since 2000. The March 2016 cost of living index was 100.9, which is near the U.S. average of 100.

Real Estate

According to City-Data, the estimated median house or condo value in 2013 was $312,247, which was a major increase since the $119,100 in 2000. The median gross rent in 2013 was $1,383. Zillow's data through August 31, 2017, showed a median list price of $814 a square foot.

Schools

Anahola's one school is Kanuikapono Learning Center, which is a charter school serving grades K-12, having 179 students, and with a student-teacher ratio of 14:1.

Recreation

Anahola has an ancient surfing area, Ka-nah?-wale, which means "easily broken."

• Anahola Beach Park

With its picturesque and rustic Kauai style, this beach has a grassy park, about half a mile of warm white sand that is kissed by the waters of the Pacific, plenty of shade, BBQ pits, grills, covered pavilions, facilities, lifeguards, and a handmade altar which is dedicated to the local residents' families and friends. Its protective reef secures calm water, making it attractive for snorkeling and swimming.

• Kauai Yoga Festival

Every October, this public event is hosted by Living Earth Kauai. It is a weekend of Yoga Workshops and Embodiment Classes. The founders share a love for holistic spirituality, health, and sacred spaces. There are two physical locations with plans to expand to other sacred locations in the world. With the remoteness of the Garden Isle and Shasta, it has necessitated that the movement be primarily online, and it is connected worldwide via the web.
