After the onset of the 2008 recession my business was devastated. We were forced to lose our home, or attempt a modification of our loan. We first attempted to accomplish this feat by ourselves. Shortly after a few bouts with IndyMac / One West Bank, we were discouraged and knew we needed help. We were recommended to another company who, like us, were battered into submission.

In a weird twist of fate our paths crossed with Eric Marovish, I had asked if he could assist us, and after almost a year and a half we successfully obtained our modification. An extraordinary feat given that IndyMac / One West Bank is notorious for not approving these loans and playing endless games to discourage the home owner.

It was Eric who calmly dealt with all the communication with them, comforted us, and several times instilled confidence to move on after we had already given up. His urging to stay the course, despite the several times the bank had thrown false confidence, and or approvals (only to be revoked for insignificant reasons) was key in our approval. His constant communication and vast knowledge, kept us at ease during one of the more stressful times in our lives. He was always researching and getting updated on the latest schemes the banks were using to derail homeowners.

In the end, Eric was instrumental in helping us not only retain our home, but all its sentimental value, and a place that our children were born and raised. Heartfelt thanks go out to Eric for all his help and support, we are truly blessed to have met him. In conjunction with my retirement, we decided to downsize and move from our residence of almost 37 years. Eric Marovish had been referred to us by some friends so we decided to go with him in selling our house and obtaining a new one. It turned out to be an excellent choice. We were introduced to Eric by our two adult daughters who both raved about him personally and professionally. Eric had helped our first daughter by renting and managing her condo when she and her husband temporarily moved away from the area. Her husband, an independent real estate developer, had worked with Eric to make offers on several properties, and also speaks highly of him. Eric worked with our second daughter to purchase a townhouse a few miles from her big sister.

When it came time for us to purchase a home to be closer to our daughters, Eric was able to set up a 14 house viewing schedule one afternoon to give us an overview of the area. We were impressed by his low key personality, his listening abilities to truly understand what we were looking for, his knowledge of the area, and his understanding of the real estate process.

Once we found the home that we liked, Eric was able to work with us, the selling agent, and owner to finalize the deal within 6 short hours…thanks, in part, to his existing relationship with the selling agent and DocuSign. We liked his sense of urgency and how he did what it took to get the job done. As an example, we were leaving town three days after finalizing the deal and needed to have the Home Inspection done within 2 days…something normally scheduled for 5-7 days. Eric made seven phone calls on our behalf before he found an available Inspector who could support our tight schedule. When it came time to release contingencies and deal with the repair item list that we had created, Eric was able to negotiate a much better deal than we expected. Finally, Eric was always available via phone, text, and/or email, to support us and the process…even while he was on a 30-day Hawaiian vacation…which ultimately turned out to be a permanent relocation.

We wish Eric and his family the best in their new life in Hawaii. That said, we are sad that we will no longer be able to interact with Eric, in the flesh, in Southern California. Our loss is Hawaii's gain!
